I was having a discussion with some final year undergraduate students.“Looking back, what advice would you give the younger you starting at university”? I expected to hear some of the responses they shared, but one the thing discussed completely shocked me. My jaw dropped in astonishment. they never kept a calendar or diary of what was happening and felt lost. I have had more than one student admit this. I wonder how many other students have been just like this and kept it to themselves? Another challenge that students shared was the “It’s not all about level of independence at university. At university, you are responsible for getting your work done. The lecturers will support you, but there is a lot more independent working.
